Relax and Recharge at Karon Beach
One of the best places to start your Phuket Thailand girls getaway is Karon Beach, a long stretch of soft sand and clear water that feels slightly more relaxed than some of Phuket’s busier beaches. We stayed at the Pullman Phuket Karon Beach Resort and it was the perfect location to enjoy all the different activities in Phuket.
Karon Beach is perfect for mornings that begin with iced coffee and ocean views. Imagine walking along the shoreline with your friends as the sun rises over the Andaman Sea, followed by a beachfront brunch and maybe even a Thai massage. The beach is spacious, which means there’s plenty of room to spread out, take photos, and enjoy a laid-back day in the sun.
For a girls getaway, Karon offers a great balance. You’ll find stylish beach clubs, cute cafés, and sunset cocktail spots without the overwhelming crowds. It’s the kind of place where you can spend hours talking, swimming, and snapping those Instagram-worthy tropical photos.

Experience the Energy of Patong Beach
When your group is ready for more excitement, head over to Patong Beach, the heart of Phuket’s nightlife and entertainment scene.
Patong Beach is famous for its lively atmosphere. During the day, you can try jet skiing, parasailing, or simply relax on the sand with a tropical drink in hand. We ate dinner with toes in the sand at Blue Beach Cafe & Restaurant.
But the real energy comes alive after dark. Just steps from the beach is Bangla Road, Phuket’s legendary nightlife street. Neon lights, rooftop bars, live music, and dance clubs create an unforgettable party scene. This was fun to walk through but could get very wild, a forewarning, this is for those who want to see the saucier side of Phuket.
While I was glad we visited Patong Beach, I am also glad that we stayed elsewhere. The crowds and crazy nightlife definitely give off a certain vibe, and I preferred the quieter side of Karon Beach.
Take an Island Tour to James Bond Island
No trip to Phuket Thailand is complete without exploring the stunning islands of Phang Nga Bay. One of the most iconic destinations is James Bond Island, made famous by the film The Man with the Golden Gun.
This dramatic limestone island rises straight out of emerald green water, creating one of the most recognizable landscapes in Thailand. Most tours to the island include a full day of adventure through Phang Nga Bay.
Kayaking was my favorite stop of the tour – we were in guided boats through caves and into hidden coves, absolutely stunning scenery.

Visit the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary
For a meaningful and memorable experience, plan a day trip to the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary. It was one of the highlights of our trip.
I recently wrote about my desire to be an ethical traveler and this was the perfect opportunity to be a discerning customer. This very special sanctuary rescues elephants that previously worked in logging, tourism, or other industries and allows them to live freely in a protected natural environment. Instead of riding elephants or watching performances, visitors observe them respectfully as they roam, bathe, and forage.
It’s an emotional and inspiring experience that easily became the highlight of my trip. Seeing these regal and highly intelligent animals being cherished for the contributions they gave and now living free was a beautiful sight.
During the visit, you’ll learn about elephant conservation, walk along elevated platforms through the forest, and watch the elephants enjoy their new peaceful lives. Seeing these gentle giants up close is truly unforgettable. It’s also a wonderful reminder that travel can be both fun and responsible.
