We have dabbled in the pond of Korean Amusement parks before, with a bit of mixed reviews. While we are quickly trying to cross items off of our Korea bucket list, we had one more amusement park to visit, Lotte World Adventure Park. This one had some pretty big advantages right from the start that make it an easy top choice for me.

If you’re planning a trip to Seoul, you will find Lotte World is on many a tourist must-visit list. Known as one of the largest indoor/outdoor theme parks in the world, this massive entertainment complex sits at the bottom of the looming Lotte World building and combines thrilling rides, cultural experiences, and lots of food options—all in one place.
What makes Lotte World a “better than the rest” experience for me is the ease of visiting. In the current world of reading extended blog posts and detailed planning lists just to visit a theme park (ahem, Tokyo Disney), this was a much different (and better) experience. I was easily able to grab discounted tickets via Klook for those with foreign passports. You can get general admission or tickets that include the fast passes if you plan on riding at least 3 of the bigger attractions. Then we hopped on the subway and walked right in. With very little planning, we were able to have a fun day together.
It was a wonder-and-do kind of day or our family. No plan, just see what we come upon and get in line. We chose a weekday when our kids were off school, but Korean families were still on regular scheduling, this helped immensely with the crowds. The park is charming and full of easy to get snacks and drinks, making your time enjoyable right from the start. I would say that if you plan on riding the main attractions, the magic passes are a must. The lines are long and you can waste a lot of time waiting in them.

Visiting Details: Location, Tickets & Hours
Lotte World is conveniently located in Jamsil, a bustling area of Seoul. You can get there easily via subway, Jamsil Station (Line 2 or Line 8)—just follow the signs directly into the park entrance.
- Opening Hours: Usually 10:00 AM to 9:00 or 10:00 PM (always check the official website).
- Tickets: Buy tickets online in advance to score foreigner discounts and skip long lines at the entrance.
Thrill & Chill Seekers Alike
Thrill-seeking and casual visitors alike will find plenty of fun. My family likes rides with some adventure, but without the feeling of possibly dying. So many of these rides are hearsay to me, but I can say there is something for everyone. Here are some of the ride highlights:
- Gyro Drop: A free-fall tower with breathtaking views before the drop.
- Pharaoh’s Fury: An adventurer’s ride through caves and tunnels, think Indiana Jones.
- French Revolution: An indoor roller coaster with a 360° loop and sharp turns.
- Flume Ride: A splashy, family-friendly log ride.
- Camelot Carousel: A dreamy carousel under a giant glass dome—ideal for photos.
- World Monorail: A family favorite, we rode it first to get a lay of the land and birds eye views of all the indoor rides.

Food Worth Trying
It is no secret that Koreans love cute snacks and themed treats and Lotte World is no exception. Food is half the experience at Lotte World! Be sure to sample these park favorites:
- Churros & Popcorn: Perfect snacks while waiting for rides.
- Character-Themed Desserts: Adorable Lotty & Lorry-shaped ice cream, cupcakes, and drinks.
- Korean Street Food: Tteokbokki, corn dogs, hotteok, and more.
Fun Facts About Lotte World
- Largest Indoor Park: It holds the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest indoor theme park.
- K-Drama Filming Location: Featured in several Korean dramas and K-pop videos.
- Lotty & Lorry: The park’s mascots are raccoons symbolizing adventure and dreams.
- Evening Magic: The park lights up beautifully after dark—perfect for night photos.
Final Thoughts
Lotte World is a picture-perfect destination, brimming with charm and instagram worthy photo ops. Whether you’re there for the adrenaline-pumping rides, seasonal events, or just to soak up the atmosphere, Lotte World Adventure Park is one of Seoul’s most iconic destinations.
