Day Trip to Nami Island

The kids were in school for Labor Day so we snuck off for a little adventure of our own. We decided to drive the hour and a half outside Seoul for a quick day trip to Nami Island. Not having a ton of expectations before hand, we just let the day unfold. After a quick ferry ride, you arrive on Nami Island and the storybook-ness begins.

We did some exploring through the beautiful gardens and wondered into some shops. Long tree lined paths lead you around into different areas with storybook art and themes. Mo decided a tandem bike was on the agenda and we spent 30 minutes biking around the island, which was a great way to see the river views and all the options for activities when we bring the kids back.

Lunch was great and I followed it up with a steamed bun with red bean paste, which was amazing…. so good, I forgot to take a picture of the inside for you. (And only 1,000 won = .79 cents). It’s all a very peaceful escape from the bustle of the City and I can definitely see myself spending more time here with the kids and exploring even more of the activities. It really wasn’t overly crowded, I think heading over early on a Monday was the trick. A day trip to Nami Island is just what we needed, I would love to come back in late Fall when the leaves are turning colors.
