“NOW this is the law of the jungle, as old and as true as the sky, And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die. As the creeper that girdles the tree trunk, the law runneth forward and back; For the strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack.”
I heard this recently and couldn’t get it out of my head. We may feel singular when we are going through experiences, but what happens to us, happens to our whole pack. If I ever feel sad about leaving, I think about the family and friends we are leaving behind. If I am nervous about what is waiting for us on the other side, I remember all the helpful emails and phone calls of those waiting to meet us. Our pack may be spread far and wide but there is no doubt in my mind who they are, and that we wouldn’t be half as successful or happy without them. This journey is not about leaving, it is about discovering and hopefully adding a few more to the pack.
The youngest member – ah, that face!
